The Eucomed Economic Affairs Group (EAG) organised its first webinar on new market access regulations on 17 January 2012. Focused specifically on one country, the first event featured France. Joel Guillou, Director- Reimbursement and Market Logistics at the French medtech industry association Snitem, updated Eucomed members on the new French Framework Agreement signed between the Economic Committee for Health Products (CEPS) and professional organisations (including Snitem) in December 2011.
In his presentation, he highlighted the key changes for the medical technology industry. The 70 members of Eucomed who took part in this webinar were afterwards able to ask questions and get more information on the next steps.
Eucomed and Snitem will continue to follow-up on this issue as the application decrees have yet to be signed and further clarifications will be given.
The group would like to thank Joël Guillou for his insightful presentation and looks forward to the next webinars with other national associations.
This initiative is the first of a series organised by the EAG in 2012 and falls under its action plan 2012-2013 to raise awareness on new market access laws and measures affecting Eucomed members and help European organisations prepare themselves to the new requirements, systems or taxes. Being able to update members on key issues in a quick and cost-effective way is a priority for the EAG.
Organised in collaboration with national associations, the next webinar is planned for February. More information will be circulated to EGA members in due time.
