Guy J. Lebeau, M.D., Company Group Chairman, Johnson & Johnson oversees the MD&D business for Europe, Middle East and Africa. This diverse business with more than 15,000 employees comprises seven franchises and has a combined income in excess of $6 billion. In addition to his leadership role within Johnson & Johnson, Dr Lebeau is actively involved in Eucomed - Europe’s regional trade association for the medical technology industry – and was named Chairman of the Board in October 2007.

Dr Lebeau has broad international experience in business management and medical technology. He joined Johnson & Johnson in 1991 in research & development and later moved to medical devices business units where he held positions of increased responsibility in sales and marketing.

More recently Dr Lebeau was named Worldwide President, Biosense Webster, the electrophysiology business unit, in 2001. In 2003 Dr Lebeau was appointed Worldwide President of Cordis Corporation. In 2004 he was named Company Group Chairman for the Cordis Franchise, the cardiovascular business unit.

Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Dr Lebeau served as Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Digestive Surgery Department (Organ Transplant Unit) at the University of Rennes (France) School of Medicine. Dr Lebeau graduated from the University of Rennes (France) and Paris (France) and holds Master's degrees in cellular biology and transplant immunology. He is also certified in general surgery. Dr. Lebeau has authored journal articles and book chapters in the fields of hepathology, liver transplant and general surgery.

Roland Pfleger joined Covidien in August 2003 as General Manager of Germany. He is currently the Vice President and General Manager for Respiratory and Monitoring Solutions in EMEA.

Prior to joining Covidien, Mr Pfleger worked for Eli Lilly between 1988 and 1997. In 1997, he joined Boston Scientific and held several commercial leadership roles across Europe. Mr Pfleger is an Austrian national and holds a degree in Economics from Vienna University. He is fully bilingual in German and English and also speaks Portuguese.

Mr Pfleger has served on the Board of Eucomed since 2010.

Jose (Pepe) Calle Gordo joined the Medical Devices and Diagnostic division of Eli Lilly in 1988 in Spain. He held several clinical and marketing manager positions in the UK, Belgium and Italy. In 2002, he moved to the US as Vice President, Drug-Eluting Stents Guidant. In 2005, Mr Calle Gordo was appointed Vice President, Marketing EMEA at Guidant Europe's HQ in Brussels. In 2006, he became Divisional Vice President, EMEA South for Abbott Vascular and subsequently DVP Operations for the EMEA Region, Canada & Latin America. As from August 2011, Mr Calle Gordo is Vice President of International Commercial Operations.

Dr Alain Coudray joined Medtronic in June 2006 as VP for Neuromodulation & ENT/NT and named VP, Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management for Europe June 2008. In March 2011, he became responsible for all International Clinical Research activities. Before joining Medtronic, he was VP Operations Central and Eastern Europe & Distributors for Guidant in Vienna (Austria) from 2004-2006.

Before, Dr Coudray was 5 years assigned as Managing Director of the Canadian operations, also within Guidant. In Canada, he led various working groups in MEDEC (industry association representing Canadian medical device and diagnostic companies), before being elected on the Board of this Association. He is a Board Member of Eucomed.

Dr Coudray received his medical degree from Grenoble University in 1986, and an MBA from HEC in Paris.

Paul Moraviec is a member of the ConvaTec Executive Committee and leads the company’s largest geographic region. Mr Moraviec is a proven leader with a track record for driving profitable growth in major global healthcare companies across a number of medical device specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and general surgery. He joined ConvaTec in 2009, before which he has held VP regional leadership roles with Johnson & Johnson and Abbott Laboratories together with CEO roles with two early stage venture capital funded companies.

Roy Bridges has been involved with the medical technology industry for more than 25 years, in a range of disciplines, including technical and quality management, public affairs and regulatory affairs. He began his career in healthcare with Ohmeda (The BOC Group), moving to BD in 1998. He is currently in the role of Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Public Policy Europe.

Mr Bridges has been an active participant in Eucomed for more than 16 years and has chaired a number of working groups. He has been a board member for approaching 10 years.

Mr Bridges was one of the founders and remains an executive committee member of the health policy interest group Health First Europe.

Thierry Sarda is General Manager for France & Benelux and part of the European Leadership Team of the Advanced Wound Management Division of Smith & Nephew.

Mr Sarda has more than 20 years experience in the medical technology industry. He started his industry journey in sales & marketing functions in Life Sciences and in-vitro diagnostic before moving to Medical Devices (cardio-vascular) at French and European levels. He has been working for Smith & Nephew for the past 10 years.

From 2006-2010, Mr Sarda was Chairman of one of the two French medical technology industry associations, APPAMED, and currently still sits on its board. He represents APPAMED on the Board of Eucomed where he is also appointed Treasurer. In addition, Mr Sarda is the Chairman of the European Health Technology Institute for Socio-Economic Research (EHTI) and the President of the newly launched ALIA, the French association focusing on healthcare associated infections in Homecare.

Daniele Bottanelli has been working for 14 years as Professional Care Director for diabetes, incontinence, dressing and infusion therapy at Artsana Spa. He is also responsible for International Market Access and has active role as company representative in health care association such as Assobiomedica and Eucomed.

Mr Bottanelli is involved in promoting enhanced quality care effectiveness by removing limitations to medical technology innovation on both the outpatient and inpatient market.

Before 1997, Mr Bottanelli worked as Marketing Manager in B. Braun Italia and in Bouty where he gained over 10 year of experience in the Professional Care market.

With over 20 years of experience in high-tech medical device companies, Carlos Ibares joined Boston Scientific in 1997 and has held several strategic and key operational roles through the years. In September 2000, he was appointed General Manager, Spain & Portugal. With a proven track record of success in sales & marketing and key leadership, Mr Ibares was appointed Vice President in 2008 for both Spain & Portugal. He is also a member of the board of Technology and Health Foundation in Spain and part of FENIN board of Directors, representing this National Spanish medical technology association in Eucomed.

Anna Lefevre Skjöldebrand has been since 5 years the chief executive of Swedish Medtech. She has expertise in e-health and the ongoing transformation of the Swedish healthcare system and is actively working on a number of projects in Sweden in this area.

Mrs Lefevre Skjöldebrand has a degree in law and in economy and has previously worked as an attorney at the law firm Delphi & Co, at Ernst & Young and as a corporate lawyer at the IT company Front Capital Systems (today Sunguard). Before she took on the role as chief executive, she was the association's general counsel.

Dr Meinrad Lugan has a university degree in chemistry (Dipl. Chem.), as well as a PhD in organic chemistry (Dr. rer. nat.), both from the University of Freiburg (Institute for Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Prof. Prinzbach).

He has held numerous positions including: Director of R & D and Director of International Business Development (BUCK System GmbH), Technical Director (BUCK Environmental LLC), Vice President (BUCK CMI Asia), and CEO (MCG Metall-Chemie Goerrig GmbH & Co KG).

Since 2000, he is Member of B. Braun Group Managing Board (Vorstand), Division OPM (Out Patient Market), and in 2004 also became Member of B. Braun Group Managing Board (Vorstand), Division Hospital Care (Hospital Market).

Born in 1964, Dr Lugan is married and has one son.

Claes Wallér has been with Cook for the last 27 years. He started Cook Sweden in 1984 as managing director. In 1993 he started Cook Norway which has now become its own entity since 2011. Mr Wallér is still the managing director for both companies. He is also a board member of the newly created Cook Finland as well as a board member of Swedish Medtech. During the last 6 years, Mr Wallér has been the Vice president Cook Group Europe responsible for Governmental and Public Affairs.

Mr Wallér started his career in Mediplast and Shiley and has a bachelor’s degree in economics.

Klaus Grunau has worked with Hollister for over 15 years with responsibilities for Healthcare Policy & Development and National- and Regional General Management. Prior to joining Hollister, he gained experience in two other medical devices companies. During the time with Kendall, Mr Grunau was, after his assignment as product manager, transferred to Saudi Arabia, later to Dubai and responsible to build a distributor network for the region. At Medimex, a German import- and distribution company, Mr Grunau was business unit manger with focus on Sales and marketing. He is on the board of the German Medical Technology Association (BVMed).

After having worked 5 years in Tokyo for PMC & co consulting company, Thierry Herbreteau joined Elly Lilly & Co (& then Guidant) in 1991 where he occupied various function in Finance, Sales Marketing & General Management to be finally Country Manager Guidant France. He then moved to St. Jude Medical in 2005 as Area Vice President France, UK, Canada, Benelux, Scandinavia & Africa until January 2008. Mr Herbreteau was then promoted to Area Vice President France, Italy, UK, Canada & Africa before to be nominated President EMEAC in January 2010.

Mr Herbreteau is graduated from ISG (Institut Superieur de Gestion-Paris 1982-1985) & New York University (NYU-Stern School of Business - MBA 1990-1991).

Chairman since 2006 and Managing Director since 2000, Donald Munro began his career as a Coats Vyella management graduate with Steriseal. In 1990, he joined Rayner Intraocular Lenses, as Export Manager based in Zurich, Switzerland. In the mid-1990s, Mr Munro was Sales Director EMEA for STAAR Surgical AG, Canton Bern. He returned to Rayner in 1998 to start a transition with outgoing Managing Director Ian Collins.

Mr Munro is married to Juliette. They live near Nijmegen in the Netherlands, with their three sons.

Renaat Vermeulen started his career in Orthopaedics with a Belgian distributor in 1986. In 1992, he became Managing Director of Kirschner Belgium. When Biomet acquired Kirschner in 1994, he started an international career with Biomet and held various functions in Sales, Marketing and General Management in Belgium, France, Spain and at Biomet’s European Headquarters in The Netherlands. In July 2010, Mr Vermeulen was appointed President of Biomet EMEA.
